Terms of service

Last updated November 1, 2026

Draft. Details in [brackets] are placeholders. Fill them in (apps/site/src/lib/legal.ts) and have a lawyer review this page before launch.

These terms are an agreement between you and [Company legal name] ("we", "us") for the use of RankTwice, including the app, its API, the Chrome extension and this website. By creating a workspace or using the service you accept them. If you use RankTwice for a company, you confirm you can accept these terms for it, and "you" means that company.

The service

RankTwice tracks Google rankings and AI answers for websites you choose, estimates their authority and traffic, audits how ready they are for AI search, and turns the results into reports. We improve it continually, so features may change. If a change takes away something important on a paid plan, we'll tell you before it happens.

Acceptable use

Use RankTwice lawfully and fairly. In particular, don't:

We may suspend access that breaks these rules or puts the service or others at risk, and will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.

Your data

You own what you put into RankTwice and the reports it produces for you. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the service for you, as the privacy policy describes. You're responsible for having the right to add your clients' details and to send reports to the people you choose.

Client-portal and shared-audit links can be opened by anyone who has them. Share them with care, and switch them off when they're no longer needed.

Estimates and third-party data

Rankings, AI answers, authority scores and traffic figures come from third-party data providers and from sampling. AI assistants give different answers to different people and at different times, so a saved answer is a sample, not a guarantee. Authority and traffic are estimates. Audit scores reflect our checks on the day they ran. None of it guarantees rankings, mentions or traffic, and you shouldn't rely on any single figure alone.

API and extension

Keys are personal to the member who creates them and stop working if that member leaves the workspace. Usage is rate-limited, and fresh domain lookups from the extension are capped per month by plan. We may change the API with reasonable notice.

Our intellectual property

The service, its software and its design belong to us and our licensors. These terms give you the right to use the service while your workspace is active, nothing more. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.

Availability

We work to keep RankTwice available and to fix problems quickly, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Data providers and connected services can have outages that delay checks.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using RankTwice and ask us to delete your workspace at any time. We may end or suspend the service for you if you materially break these terms or don't pay, after notice where we can give it. After a workspace ends, we delete its data as the privacy policy describes.

Disclaimers

Apart from what these terms say, the service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so they may not all apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, neither side is liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Indemnity

You'll cover our reasonable costs if a third party brings a claim against us because of content you added or because you used the service in breach of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by [Country or state whose law governs these terms, and its courts].

Changes to these terms

We'll update the date at the top when these terms change, and email workspace owners at least 30 days before a significant change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
