The basics
Why lead a pitch with an audit
A prospect hears the same promises from every agency. An audit of its own site, with its name at the top and the problems in its own pages, moves the conversation from claims to evidence.
AI search gives you a fresh angle. Most businesses don't know whether ChatGPT or Perplexity can read their site at all. A robots.txt rule that blocks an AI search crawler, or text that only appears after JavaScript runs, can keep a site out of AI answers however good its content is.
A good audit is short and ranked. The prospect should see a score and the handful of fixes that matter most, with the reason for each, not a long export. That's also what makes the follow-up easy: you're offering to fix the list.
In RankTwice
How it works
- 01
Enter the site
Add the website, the business name if you like, and the country and language it sells in. Nothing is added to your client list, and the audit doesn't need a project.
- 02
The site is read like an AI crawler reads it
RankTwice fetches the homepage and other pages, up to 10 in all, as served, without running JavaScript, along with robots.txt, the sitemap and llms.txt.
- 03
19 checks in 3 groups
Crawler access, Readable content and Structured data and trust. Each check is weighted, each group gets its own score, and together they make one score from 0 to 100.
- 04
Authority and reach are added
The report adds the site's authority, referring domains, estimated organic traffic and ranking keywords, so the prospect also sees where it stands in Google.
- 05
Shared under your brand
Send a link anyone can open without signing in, or print it to PDF. From the Freelancer plan the report carries your logo and colour.

Reading the screen
How to read it
- The score
- 0 to 100: Good from 80, Needs work from 50. A site that blocks an AI search crawler can't score Good, however well it does elsewhere, because that engine can't cite it.
- AI crawlers
- Whether each of 10 AI crawlers may fetch the site under its robots.txt. 6 are search crawlers, which fetch pages to answer and cite; blocking one costs visibility. The rest collect training data, and blocking those is a business choice.
- Readable content
- Whether the text is in the HTML as served (under 150 words suggests JavaScript draws it, and most AI crawlers don't run JavaScript), plus titles, descriptions, headings, question headings, image alt text and the page language.
- Structured data and trust
- Structured data, an organization or local business profile, About and Contact pages, Open Graph tags and canonical addresses: the signals that tell an engine who the business is.
- Fixes in order
- Failed checks come first, then warnings, heaviest first. Each says what was found, what to do and which pages have the problem.
Putting it to work
What to do with it
Agencies
Run one before every sales call. Open with the score and the top three fixes, and leave the link behind so the decision-maker can pass it around.
Freelancers and consultants
Use it as the first step of a paid audit. The report proves the problem in a few minutes; the fix list becomes the scope of your proposal.
In-house teams
Audit the competitors that show up in AI answers, and the ones that don't. Whether a rival blocks AI crawlers or hides its text behind JavaScript often explains the difference.

FAQ ( 6 )
Questions about prospect audits
How prospect audits works in RankTwice, and what each plan includes.
How long does an audit take?
About a minute for most sites. The audit page fills in when it's done, and the list of audits keeps every one you've run.
Will the prospect see RankTwice on it?
On the Free plan the report says it was made with RankTwice. From the Freelancer plan it carries your logo, colour and footer instead.
Can I switch off a shared link?
Yes. Switch it off on the audit and the link stops working straight away. Deleting the audit stops it too.
How is this different from the site audit?
The prospect audit reads up to 10 pages and asks one question: can AI search reach, read and trust this site? The site audit crawls a client's whole site against 106 technical checks.
Can I audit any website?
Any public website: a prospect, a competitor or your own site. Addresses on private networks are refused.
Is there a free version?
Yes. The free AI readiness checker on this site runs the same checks on any site, without signing up. Prospect audits add authority and traffic, your branding and a link to share.
